Coimbatore: Medical college students who have returned to India from Ukraine are calling for accommodation in Indian medical colleges for the continuation of their academic courses. Many students are claiming that Ukrainian universities in which they studied are also putting off preparations of necessary documents needed for the switching institutions. Students stated that continuing education through online mode has limited scope, even for topics that require practical sessions.

A P Janani, 20, a second-yr. MBBS student stated, “There was no communication from the university on whether we were being discontinued or shifted to other universities.’’ Varsha Thilagar, a second-year MBBS student from Valparaiin Coimbatore said, “With the ensuing semester classes to begin in September, I am yet to decide on whether or not to pay the fees to the Ukraine university” Students also claimed that some Ukrainian universities are delaying the publication of semester results for students who fail to pay fees.
